About Naina Naina is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with a special interest in supporting women living with diabetes, insulin resistance, and other metabolic health concerns. She helps women build sustainable eating habits, improve their relationship with food, and feel more confident managing their health without restrictive diets or unrealistic rules. Drawing on her experience across hospital, community, and mental health settings, Naina takes a whole-person approach to nutrition care. She understands that managing diabetes and insulin resistance is about far more than food alone. Factors such as stress, sleep, hormones, mental health, culture, neurodiversity, access to healthcare, and daily life demands all influence health outcomes. Naina is passionate about helping women navigate the often-confusing world of nutrition with practical, evidence-based guidance that fits their real lives. Whether someone is newly diagnosed with diabetes, managing insulin resistance, or looking to improve their energy, blood glucose levels, and long-term wellbeing, she works collaboratively with clients to create realistic and personalised strategies. Her approach is weight-inclusive, compassionate, and focused on supporting health-promoting behaviours rather than pursuing weight loss at all costs. She believes lasting change happens when people feel supported, understood, and empowered rather than judged. Naina also has extensive experience supporting individuals with eating disorders, disordered eating, neurodivergence, mental health concerns, and chronic health conditions. I’m a Naturopath and GAPS Practitioner with over 22 years of experience, specialising in gut health and its impact on the rest of the body — particularly skin health, food intolerances, and immune function. My interest in digestive health grew out of my own experience. I lived with long-term fatigue and health issues that worsened after the birth of my son. I was eventually diagnosed with autoimmune low thyroid function, linked to increased intestinal permeability (commonly referred to as "leaky gut"). I now support my digestion as part of managing my health — a challenge that’s given me firsthand insight into how difficult dietary changes can be in real life. Because of this, I go beyond identifying the underlying cause in my clinical work. I provide practical support — including recipes and strategies for gut health while managing food sensitivities. I aim to make dietary changes feel realistic and sustainable. I hold a Bachelor of Health Science (Complementary Medicine), an Advanced Diploma of Health Science (Naturopathy), a Diploma of Health in Nutrition, a Diploma of Health in Herbal Medicine and I am a certified GAPS practitioner. Alongside clinic work, I’ve worked in the health food industry and have provided education to pharmacy assistants, fellow practitioners, and the general public across Australia.
I am a Functional Nutrition Consultant, Certified GAPS Practitioner and mum of three. I'm dedicated to helping others achieve their health goals by addressing the root cause of digestive issues, health conditions and any other aspect they want to improve. I combine evidence-based but also anecdotal cases using traditional and holistic practices to support wellness and help individuals reclaim their health. My passion is to help people make better choices for themselves and their family. I implement the GAPS Nutritional Protocol for root cause and deep healing to educate and empower people to go that bit further. From gut healing to fixing function, many conditions people are faced with in today's environmental and lifestyle challenges can be resolved. I have a huge interest in traditional cooking; I love fermenting and embrace the slower style of food preparation. I understand the pressures of raising a family and bringing nutrient rich food to the table and I endeavour to help makes things simpler and achievable. Personally, I have implemented GAPS and am blown away by what small shifts can be made when you integrate healing foods and the flow on effect with other issues. I want to educate others because I believe any condition can be improved.
